Art Nouveau Palace Hotel Prague Review

PRAGUE : Stay at Art Nouveau Palace Hotel / REVIEW

Art Nouveau Palace Hotel Prague

Travellerczech Rating : 7/10

Prague is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Cobblestone streets, churches, palaces and hidden renaissance gardens. Great food and beer, magnificent sights, together with affordable prices and safe environment.

It’s not easy to find the right location for your stay, so let me help to make your decisions a little bit easier. Czech my Art Nouveau Palace Hotel review based on my personal experience and selection.

Location : 10/10

Location is arguably one of the best features of this 1909 historical hotel, which is only minutes away from the main Wenceslas Sq, Mustek Metro Station, shopping streets and the historical areas of the city.

Also, easily reachable from the Airport by Bus ( 119 ) + Metro or by taxi in less than 40min.

Beautiful Viennese Art Nouveau style building is on the corner of Panska and Jindrisska street, so you can hardly miss it.

Style : 7/10

I was hoping for much more Art Nouveau ornamentation, but the interior appeals more of a mixture of styles with some rather revolting elements such as the lobby multi-level chandelier.

I am not an expert for 1900 century interiors, but I have had a slightly different expectations.

Anyway, its not bad, just not great either.

Rooms : 9/10

One word…Great! Very spacious with comfortable beds, AC, sofa and fast free Wi-Fi!

Choose the room with window facing the inner courtyard for a blissful sleep.

The only down point is lack of sockets to charge your devices and again, the artwork is soooo random.

I loved the bathroom with all the marble. Felt very luxurious and exceptionally clean.

Service & facilities : 5/10

Czech Republic is not famous for being the friendliest country in the world. That applies not just for hotels, but restaurants, shops and services alike.

Luke warm welcome, quick check-in with minimum conversationā€¦off you go…

Other than couple of restaurants, hotel doesn’t offer any leisure facilities.

Food & drinks : 5/10

Hotel has two restaurants, I have only tried the one serving breakfast buffet, which was included in my room rate.

Again, the service is “so so”, but the food selection was sufficient. I was not jumping from excitement but my belly was full.

You can opt for egg dishes made to your liking and pick many items from the buffet tables.
I was really missing traditional Czech pastries such as koblihy, kolace and satecky s makem ā˜ŗ

Value for money : 8/10

Value of this facility is very good in my opinion! You will hardly find such a spacious, comfortable rooms in this prime location for similar price. I will definitely stay in Art Nouveau Palace again!

Don’t forget to visit my favourite places ā€¦ Wallenstein Gardens, Petrin tower, Vrtbovska gardens & areas below Prague Castle…

Adrspach Rocks

CZECH REPUBLIC : Straight out of a Fairytale / GUIDE

czech tagI feel a bit guiltyā€¦publishing posts from elsewhere on the globe, whenĀ my own countryĀ offersĀ its visitors a wealth ofĀ history and breathtaking natural scenery.

You would be forgiven for thinking that the Czech RepublicĀ is onlyĀ Prague,Ā andĀ youĀ would be amazed by what other wondersĀ we have to offer. Picture perfect Cesky Krumlov,Ā ecclesiastical Olomouc, or the home of the best beer in the world ā€¦ the City of Pilsen.

Not to mention the amazing natural landscapes. Let me introduce you to a place, which looks so fantastic, you won’t believe it is real and will make you feel like being The Third Princeā€¦ a character in one of the most famous Czech fairy tales, the movie of which was shot atĀ this location.

This unique place is called The AdrÅ”pach-Teplice Rocks. Here you will findĀ an unusual set of sandstone formations covering 17 km2 ofĀ northeastern Bohemia and it is definitely worth the journey from Prague. ( near Teplice-nad-Metuji Town )

Squeeze through naturally formed gorges, and let your imagination run wild when looking at the various shapes created by the rocks. They all have Ā funny names, see if you can identify each by their given name.

A magical journey through towering rock formations.

The rocks have been protected asĀ a national nature reserve since 1933, and since 1991 the whole adjacent region of Broumovsko has enjoyed the status of protected landscape area. Tourists may visit the rocks via a number of marked trails. The area is a popular destination for rock climbers too.

The reserve is also one of the largest permanent breeding sites of peregrine falcon in Europe. I haven’t seen any myself but the blue sky perfectly made-up for it.

Rent a boat and enjoy the balmy summer, escapeĀ from the reality.
